From Fritz Hausot, Northern Steel President On behalf of all of us at Northern Steel, I would like to welcome you to our website. Becoming a diversified steel fabrication shop sure doesn't happen overnight. We started small and have developed our skills over time. But we've grown a lot, and now tackle some of the biggest jobs around. Northern Steel opened its doors in 1977. Our first shop was pretty small at only 3,600 square feet. Our business at the time was maintaining and developing equipment for forest industry clients. Even at the start, we focused on delivering quality products on time. About four years later, we moved into a brand-new 18,000 square foot location. At around the same time, we began providing steel solutions for commercial and industrial projects in the construction industry. The jobs may have been larger, but we continued to deliver the best results on schedule. Today, we think diversity is the key to staying in business. So Northern Steel has branched out, effectively servicing industries like the pulp and paper, chemicals, and mining sectors. Industry leaders across Canada and the US choose Northern Steel because we keep delivering results. Our 60 plus staff members have the knowledge and experience to handle all projects with confidence. We have good people working for us, and in turn, good people working for you. In 1999, we added another 18,000 square feet of space. With this extra room, we can handle the most complex and demanding jobs. But the basic goals have stayed the same: to produce quality products on time, and deliver good value. Please take your time at our site. We have included as much information as we can to help you get acquainted with us. Sections like the Feature Job and the Specialties areas give you a good idea of how we tackle jobs. Our news section keeps you up to date on advances at NSL, such as our recent ISO 9001:2000 recertification. Of course, we'd love to hear from you and discuss your needs. When you want to talk, please call or e-mail us with your unique challenges. We look forward to working with you. Thanks,
Fritz Hausot
